The bog, a unique habitat, fascinates with its biodiversity and its special connection between land and water. In the Spreewald, we are among the lucky few who can still experience near-natural bogs.
Bogs are often portrayed as dark, swampy landscapes. However, with our multimedia bog educational trail in Raddusch and the surrounding area, we want to show you that bogs are much more. We aim to refresh the image of these fascinating habitats and make their diversity tangible.
Our educational trail focuses on sustainability and future viability. Through modern media, we manage with subtle signage. This innovative approach was even awarded first prize in the "Naturally. Sustainably. We in Brandenburg" competition in the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve in the category "Sustainable Tourism – Nature Enjoyment."
The multimedia bog educational trail relies on modern media and subtle signage. In the nature reserve, you will only find small signs at stations (2, 3 & 4) to keep interventions in nature minimal. Outside the nature reserve up to station 5, additional information boards have been installed. There are currently no signs for the stations of the newly established shortcut.
The MOFOs (bog frogs) are the mascots of the bog educational trail and accompany you on your way. If you spot these two on the signs, you'll know you've reached a bog!
